Bananaman the Musical has unveiled its first song and music video for "A Call to Action," featuring Marc Pickering and the cast - check it out below!

Based on the famous Beano and TV character. Marc is Bananaman's nemesis Doctor Gloom. The song comes in the first half of the show when Doctor Gloom is planning ways in which to deal with Bananaman who is thwarting his plans for world domination!

Bananaman the Musical, written and composed by Leon Parris, who also wrote the musical adaptation of The Famous Five and Wolfboy which played in the West End, and directed by Mark Perry, gets its world premiere at the Southwark Playhouse from December 15th to January 20th. Press night is Thursday January 4 at 7.30pm.

Bananaman, the Man-of-Peel, is flying out of the pages of much-loved comic Beano, and the hugely popular TV cartoon, in the world premiere of Bananaman the Musical, the hilarious new musical comedy by Leon Parris.

Bananaman is a unique member of the superhero ranks. He may have a jawline you can see from space and sport an exciting tight, lycra outfit, but this superhero has the muscles of 20 men and the brain of 20 mussels. Which isn't much! Bananaman will be attempting to save the world at London's Southwark Playhouse this Christmas.

Matthew McKenna is Bananaman. Marc Pickering is Doctor Doom. Jodie Jacobs is Eric's loyal sidekick, Crow. Mark Newnham is Eric. Carl Mullaney is General Blight. TJ Lloyd is Chief O'Reilly. Lizzii Hills is Mrs Wimp. Brian Gilligan is Mad Magician. Emma Ralston is Fiona. Chris McGuigan & Amy Perry make up the ensemble.
