Hi Jodie! How are you?

I'm great, thanks!

I must ask first of all about your new-found love of Twitter...

Yeah, I quite like it! I've got used to it now. But I'm on my iPhone all the time and I've got iPhone-itis in my hands...

I guess at least you'll be able to keep in touch with home when you're on tour. When do you start in Spamalot?

29th May, in Wimbledon!

Have you seen the show before?

Yes! I saw it in the West End, and laughed so much, I enjoyed it so much. When I was asked to do it, I was really excited - it's the opposite to what I've been doing as Nancy, getting smacked in the face saving a small child every night!

Did you see it with Hannah [Hannah Waddingham, the first West End Lady]?

Yes! She's amazing.

Really big shoes to fill, though.

Yes, but it'll be good to show something different in my voice as well.

You're only doing selected dates on the tour - what else are you up to?

Well, I'm doing the search for Toto [on Over The Rainbow], I'm recording a Glenn Miller album, and doing some other TV stuff I can't talk about! It was all set in stone before I was offered Spamalot, though, so it's great they're letting me!

So what venues are you doing?

Wimbledon, Bromley, Brighton, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham.

And is Marcus Brigstocke your King Arthur the entire way round?

Yes! Isn't that great? And I found out today that Todd Carty is going to be Patsy! I'm going to sing the Grange Hill and EastEnders theme tunes at him.

In the Diva's Lament, last time I saw it they were mocking Heather Mills in the lyrics. Can you tell me who it is this time?

Oooh, there might be a mention of SuBo!

Fabulous. And as you said, you're searching for Toto - how's that going?

It's my ideal job!

I was watching it the other day and thinking you must really miss your own dogs!

I have a massive picture of my three dogs in my handbag! I love them. I can't watch Lassie - I can watch war films with hundreds of people getting killed, but give me a dog with a limp and I'm gone. And the show's going so well. Dogs get such a bad press at times, so here we see some incredible dogs with brilliant relationships with their owners. When we tell a dog he can't be Toto, the dogs are fine, but I'm always distraught! And it's lovely to be back working with the same team who worked on I'd Do Anything.

Are you still in touch with the girls from I'd Do Anything?

All of them! I was out with Ashley the other day; we saw Rachel's first night in Wicked and she was amazing; Niamh's great in Love Never Dies...we've all done well, actually. And I know the Dorothys will be exactly the same.

Jodie stars in Spamalot from 29th May and is leading the search for Toto on Over The Rainbow on BBC One every Saturday. You can follow her on Twitter at @musicalmissy.
