Hi Jeremy, thanks for your time. How did you become involved in Snappy Title?

I've been involved in Snappy Title since I was asked to sing 'A Trainspotter's Tale' by Alexander Bermange in the very first one at the Pigalle Club in Piccadilly last September. I then did the second, 'From The Heart', in February and so jumped at the chance to make it a hat-trick with the latest one, 'Dream A Little Dream'.

What's the nicest thing about doing this kind of concert?

Personally speaking, they're enormous fun to do. Some great friends of mine have done all three of the concerts as well, and we get to hang out and lark about as we put the show together throughout the day. It's also been lovely to meet and work with new actors who I haven't met or worked with before. Professionally speaking, I've always got a real kick out of new material, not just hearing and performing it, but nurturing it as well. Sometimes, we offer suggestions to the writers for their songs - whether it be suggesting lyric or musical changes or story enhancement, or just through our interpretations of the songs. That's really rewarding: to know that in some miniscule way, you've informed the songwriting process!

It's also quite satisfying to stick a metaphorical flag in a song (particularly if it's a really good one) as if to say "I got here first", but also quite a responsibility. Most of the songs that come through Snappy Title really are terrific and it's that responsibility to put it out there in the right way that I enjoy most. It's probably going to be the song's first voyage, so I'd like that song to set sail in glorious fashion, sail's gleaming.

What's your highlight of this year's running order, do you think?

That's tough, because before the day, we go through our songs separately with the Musical Director, Chris Mundy, in our own safe cocooned little rehearsals. It's not until Sunday arrives that there's the big reveal and we get to hear each other's songs at the sound check. That's the time to get jealous of X who's doing the funny one, Y who's got the one with the clever lyrics and soaring melody, or Z who's song would fit that audition you've got next week PERFECTLY!

However, I'm hearing on the grapevine the song Issy van Randwyck's singing is going to be spectacular. I always really enjoy Matt Board's (one of the songwriters) work, and he has a couple more in this Snappy Title to look out for. There's an ensemble of newly-graduated musical theatre performers, which is exciting and turning us more into a fully-fledged show, and following on from Stephen Sondheim being celebrated at the last Snappy Title, 'Dream A Little Dream' is the turn of Gypsy and Funny Girl composer Jule Styne. There's so much to look forward to, you lucky, lucky people! I for one can't wait.

Snappy Title 3: Dream A Little Draem is at the Cochrane Theatre this Sunday September 19th.
