The Daily Mail has reported that musical theatre staple, 42nd Street, will head into the Drury Lane Theatre this March in an all-new production helmed by the show's book writer, Mark Bramble.

This revival of the quintissential backstage musical has had a somewhat rough start. When a deal to produce it at the ENO fell through, the show's producers jumped at the chance to bring the show to the Drury Lane Theatre once the theater's current tenant, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, announced its closing.

This won't be the musical's first outing at the venue, a previous production of the show played the Drury Lane in 1984, and launched the career of one of Hollywood's biggest names, Catherine Zeta- Jones.

This production will also welcome back another 42nd Street veteran from Gower Champion's landmark 1980 Broadway production, choreographer, Randy Skinner. Bramble and Skinner are due to arrive in London next week to begin auditions. Rehearsals begin in January.

Previews begin March 20th, 2017. Opening night is set for April 4th.
