My trip to London in 2013 was filled with incredible theatrical experiences.

For one, I had the opportunity to perform my show 'Diva Moments' at the iconic Hippodrome. As an anglophile coming from across the pond, I was incredibly excited but also quite terrified that no one would attend my performances. I only knew a handful of people in the UK but they all assured me that everything would work out in the end, as it often does in theatre. And they were right! Nothing could have prepared me for the overwhelming response I received! The support and enthusiasm from the audiences were unlike anything I'd ever experienced. After four sold-out shows, I returned to the US very spoiled and impatient to perform again in the UK.

Another highlight of the trip was seeing my good friend Jared Gertner in The Book Of Mormon. We attended NYU together and although I've had the opportunity to catch him in many other shows, this was different. Seeing him command the stage, starring in a West End hit, brought tears of pride to my eyes! I could never have imagined that we'd both be reunited in London, performing only a few streets away from each other. Jared, the freakishly talented Gavin Creel and the rest of the Book Of Mormon cast, had me in stitches and gave me one of the best nights at the theatre of my entire life.

What am I looking forward to in 2014? Selfishly, my own return engagements in the UK!

Aside from that, I'm hoping that the rumour is true about Benedict Cumberbatch starring in a West End production of Hamlet. An actor of his ability and popularity doesn't come around often and although I know the ticket would cost a pretty penny, I'd happily row a boat across the pond to catch him play the Prince of Denmark!
