In this comedy of errors, catastrophes and pratfalls an English touring company carves a trail of theatrical chaos from one provincial venue to the next. Observed both onstage and backstage Frayns play within a farce is a hilarious send-up of the hopes, aspirations and delusions of a beleaguered director and his dysfunctional cast and crew careening towards its final curtain.
