theatreWashington’s Star Gala & Benefit Auction Held At Four Seasons

When The Helen Hayes Awards transitions this fall to its new chapter as theatreWashington, (the organization's new name and brand which better reflects the breadth and geographic scope of its far-reaching activities), a 22 year tradition continues - The Star Gala & Benefit Auction.

This one-of-a-kind spectacular evening of wining, dining, bidding, and theatricality raises funds to support theatreWashington's community building, audience development, and education services provided to theatres, artists, and audiences of all ages throughout the Washington area.

On Friday, October 28, 2011 the evening begins at 6:30pm, at the Four Seasons Hotel Washington (2800 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW) and includes a sensational silent auction and live auction conducted by Sebastian Clarke of Doyle New York and Antiques Roadshow. Additionally, JayLee Mead will be honored with the "2011 Helen's Star" for her extraordinary support of Washington theatre. "There is no greater champion or fan of Washington area theatre than JayLee Mead," said theatreWashington President & CEO Linda Levy Grossman, "It is not just her significant support, but her presence and energy which is felt in theatres throughout the region."

Tickets are now on sale for theatreWashington's Star Gala & Benefit Auction, and cost $290 for an individual ticket, with Tables (seating for ten) starting at $2,500, and Sponsorship Tables (premium seating and benefits for 10) at $10,000. The event includes:
Cocktails and silent auction
A three-course dinner in signature Four Seasons style
Live Auction conducted by Sebastian Clarke of Doyle New York and Antiques Roadshow featuring exclusive travel packages to a variety of exotic destinations including Marrakesh and Machu Piccu
Presentation of the "2011 Helen's Star" to JayLee Mead for her extraordinary support of Washington theatre
Show tunes around the piano with pianist extraordinaire Glenn Pearson to bring the curtain down
