WNO Presents THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO At The Kennedy Center 4/24-5/7
Washington National Opera (WNO), under the leadership of General Director Plácido Domingo, presents Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro) in nine performances, April 24 to May 7 at the Kennedy Center Opera House. A comic opera with a sparkling score, The Marriage of Figaro continues the Figaro story started in WNO's season-opening production of Rossini's The Barber of Seville in an opulent and uproarious production directed by Harry Silverstein and conducted by Patrick Fournillier, both in their WNO debuts. Leading the internationally acclaimed double cast are New Zealand baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes as Count Almaviva, Russian bass Ildar Abdrazakov as Figaro and Argentine soprano Virginia Tola as the Countess. The Marriage of Figaro is performed in Italian with English supertitles.
