Theatre Alliance Closes GRETTY GOOD TIME, 7/3

John Belluso's Gretty Good Time, a co-production of Theater Alliance and VSA (the international organization on arts and disability), will open on June 3 at the H Street Playhouse (1365 H Street NE). Tickets are $20 and $30 and are available at http://theateralliance.tix.com or 202 399 7993 ext 2. The show runs through July 3.

Set in 1955, Gretty Good Time is a dark comedy that tells the story of Gretty, who has been forced to live her life in a nursing home after a childhood bout with polio left her paralyzed. Gretty is visited in her dreams by Hideko, a young Japanese woman whose face was disfigured in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. They climb onboard Gretty's flying wheelchair and soar backwards through time to confront the painful memories that haunt them. Mixing historical fact, poetic flights of fancy, and an Epic Theatre sensibility, Gretty Good Time explores contemporary issues through the framework of a strong character journey.

Ann Stocking has performed at some of Los Angeles' finest theatres, including the Mark Taper Forum, the Falcon Theatre, the Geffen Playhouse, The Open Fist, and the Theatre at Boston Court in addition to appearing in television and film. She is a graduate of UCLA's Master of Fine Arts, Acting Program. Ann is the Artistic Director Blue Zone Productions-a New Theatre Company dedicated to giving voice to the disabled experience and supporting the work of disabled theatre artists.

Caitlin Gold, originally from Arlington, VA, she attended New York University and graduated with a BFA in acting. Recent theater credits include: Songs I've Never Heard with You (WP) and I Stand Before You Naked (Off Off-B'way). Film/TV credits include: "Step Up", "From Within" (Tribeca Film Festival) and "Nurse Jackie".

Field Blauvelt is a former member of the acting ensemble at Berlin's Theater des Westens. In the DC area, Field has appeared at the Shakespeare Theater, the Kennedy Center, the Olney Theater Center, and Theater J. He also had the singular experience of attacking Nicole Kidman in the Warner Bros. film The Invasion.

Daniel Eichner most recently played Joe in Parts I and II of Angels In America and The Man in Amazons And Their Men at Forum Theatre. Other recent credits include Fever/Dream at Woolly Mammoth Theatre, Intimate Apparel at African Continuum Theatre, and The True History of Coca-Cola in Mexico at GALA Theatre.

Rosemary Regan last appeared in Theatre Alliance's 2009 production of The Bread of Winter. Other performances include Miss Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest (Keegan Theatre); The Cripple of Inishmaan, Conversations with My Father, The Desk Set, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (Studio); Terrorism, Mad Forest, Hot Fudge (Studio Secondstage); Liaisons Dangereuses, Abundance (Signature); Rhythms and Losing Lawrence (Horizons); Entertaining Mr. Sloane, The Winter's Tale, And Then There Were None (Washington Shakespeare Company).
