The Capital City Showcase Comes to IOTA Club & Cafe on 5/19
The Capital City Showcase is the variety show that features the DMV's best comedians, musicians, and performing artists. For over six years, the Showcase has included DC's best artists of all kinds, including stand-up comedians, improv troupes, bands, acoustic singer-songwriters, and hip-hop artists.
May's Showcase will feature:
COMEDY HEADLINER: Rahmein Mostafavi
Rahmein has entertained the DC area with his comedy for over a decade. He has performed at established venues across the country: locally at The DC Improv, The Kennedy Center, and The Warner Theater, and nationally at Caroline's on Broadway and Richmond Funny Bone. He has shared the stage with such acts as Dave Attell, Bert Kreischer, and Artie Lange, and appeared on FOX, PBS, and Sirius XM Radio.
MUSICAL HEADLINER: Caustic Casanova
Caustic Casanova is a nationally touring DC-based rock trio that has been a staple of the scene for the past five years. They have played locally at such venues as The Black Cat and nationally at Austin's SXSW. Their 2012 release, Someday You Will Be Proven Correct, received critical acclaim from Punk News and The Onion A.V. Club.
This fantastic Showcase will also feature comedy from Elahe Izadi and Jon Yeager, and music from Cassie Urbany.
