Reel Affirmations XTRA: Washington DC's International LGBTQ Monthly Film Series screens "Alaska Is A Drag" on February 15, 2019 at 7pm. Reel Affirmations XTRA is an impressive and eclectic cinematic event that screens 12 films, one per month, over the course of 2019 with genres including comedy, drama, romance, international, and documentary, both short films and feature length. Reel Affirmations XTRA is a component of the larger annual film festival, Reel Affirmations: Washington DC's International LGBTQ Film Festival.

February's Installation is a film that follows tough, but diva fabulous, Leo, an aspiring drag superstar, who is stuck working in a fish cannery in Alaska. He and his twin sister are trapped in the monotony of fist fights and fish guts. Out of necessity, Leo learned to fight back, which catches the attention of the local boxing coach. When a new boy

moves to town and wants to be his sparring partner, Leo has to face the real reason he's stuck in Alaska. The story of a fish out of water, literally. Leo had to learn to survive and his boss, an amateur boxer, notices it. When a new boy offers to train with him, Leo and his twin sister are forced to face the real reason they are trapped in that place.
