What makes a prisoner into a queen? Or two teenagers into a symbol for tragic love?

In ON THE EVE, an award winning play by Amy Frey, one inconsequential choice transforms unexceptional people into the stuff of legend.

Originally debuted at the Venus/Adonis Theatre Festival in New York City, and later winning the Bare Knuckle Theatre Festival "Pick of the Fringe" award, ON THE EVE is poised to take on the Capital Fringe festival in Washington, D.C. Directed by Melissa Frey, with Thomas Anawalt as Rumplestiltskin/Romeo/Dauphin, and Amy Frey as Miller's Daughter/Juliet/Joan, ON THE EVE conjures up three different stories that are regularly told to us in childhood: tales of heroes, villains, and star-crossed lovers, and harrowingly dissects the choices that make us who we really are.

ON THE EVE will perform at the Silver Venue in St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, at 555 Water Street, Washington, D.C. July 14th at 1:15 PM, 15th, at 4:45 PM, 17th at 8:45PM, 21st at 11:30 AM, and 22nd at 5:00 PM. Tickets will be available from June 18th at capitalfringe.com
