National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts presents The Second-Year Student Showcases, "Reckless" and "After."

Reckless by Craig Lucas
Performances: Dec. 17th - 2 & 8 PM, Dec. 18th - 5 PM

Rehearsal Project Instructors: Reginald Richard & Doug Wilder

The Story: At home on Christmas Eve, Rachel is not having the evening she was expecting. After an odd encounter with her husband she flees into the snowy night where she meets and joins up with Lloyd Bophtelophti who lives with a deaf, paraplegic named Pootie. The three embark on a journey that includes a TV game show, multiple therapists and an ill-fated reunion with her husband. In the end Rachel is led more and more to ponder whether the modern world might not be a vast conspiracy designed to systematically undermine her own increasingly shaky sanity.

After. By Chad Beckim

Performances: Dec. 16th - 8 PM, Dec. 17th - 5 PM and Dec. 18th - 2 PM

Rehearsal Project Instructor: Doug Wilder

The Story: When a wrongfully imprisoned man is exonerated by DNA evidence after seventeen years in prison, he is forced to re-assimilate into a cold, foreign world of toothbrush shopping, doggy day care, and a friendship with an anxious young woman with secrets of her own.

All performances are FREE and reservations are required.
