Keegan Theatre Goes Romantic with THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY

By:

The Keegan Theatre closes out its 21st season with the Tony Award-winning musical THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, opening on August 4, 2018. An acclaimed musical based on the best-selling novel, THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY was developed by the Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning creative team of Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, Parade, Songs for a New World) and Marsha Norman. A sweeping romance about the roads we travel, the doors we open and the bridges we dare to cross, this 2014 Tony Award-winner for Best Score and Orchestrations captures the lyrical expanse of America's heartland and the yearning entangled in the eternal question" "What if...?"

The production features Keegan newcomers Dan Felton and Susan Derry, with Chad Wheeler, MaryKate Brouillet, Kathy Fuller, Paul Tonden, Carson Collins, Abby Middleton, MK Sagastume, Chris Gillespie, Rj Pavel, Kaylen Morgan and Lily Warner rounding out the cast. BRIDGES is directed by Kurt Boehm with music direction by Elisa Rosman.

"THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY contains a stunning score and a breathtaking love story, and we hope to sweep audiences away with it this summer," says Susan Marie Rhea, Keegan's artistic director. "Kurt Boehm brings a breadth of talent, passion for the piece, and a rich history with Keegan to the plate, and we're excited to see how he and his extraordinary cast and design team bring this story to life on the Keegan stage. A sweeping romance with gorgeous music, told in our intimate space, promises to be a night audiences won't soon forget."
