The National Theatre brings America's hottest dance company to its stage for one performance only on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 7:30pm as it presents Travis Wall's SHAPING SOUND After The Curtain. Tickets may be purchased online at TheNationalDC.com, in person at the National Theatre Box Office (Monday thru Friday from Noon to 6:00 PM), or by calling 800-514-3849. The National Theatre is located at 1321 Pennsylvania Ave. NW in downtown Washington, D.C.

Conceived and choreographed by two-time Emmy Award winner Travis Wall, After The Curtain tells the story of a man fighting to find his creative voice after the death of his one true love. Heart-wrenching, breath-taking and ultimately uplifting, this is one dance show that audiences will remember forever. Triangle Magazine described After The Curtain as "the pinnacle of contemporary dance!"

After The Curtain has received rave reviews across the country. The Los Angeles Times wrote that "like a good film scene, this dance spectacle lingers after the curtain falls." Dallas' TheaterJones called it "overwhelmingly beautiful" and added that "seeing the show once isn't enough to fully register the vastness of the production."

Travis Wall will dance in the show, as the tortured protagonist Vincent. He will be joined by fellow Shaping Sound founding member Nick Lazzarini who plays Vincent's brother (and sometimes tormentor) Leo. The rest of the company will be made up of Shaping Sound favorites and will be announced soon.

Travis Wall has become a leading presence in the world of commercial dance. The runner-up for the popular Fox reality show So You Think You Can Dance Season 2 and currently a resident choreographer for that national dance competition show, he recently won a second Emmy Award for 'Outstanding Choreography' for his groundbreaking work on it. He won his first Emmy in 2015 and has been nominated seven consecutive times.

He choreographed the music video for Carrie Underwood's "Something In The Water", which won the CMT Video of the Year, as well as stage shows for Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato. Additional TV credits include choreographing the 82nd Academy Awards, Disneyland's 60th Anniversary Special on ABC, the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and an episode of Pretty Little Liars featuring Maddie Ziegler.

His feature film credits include choreography for The Wedding Ringer starring Kevin Hart and the contemporary numbers for the feature film Step Up Revolution. He had the privilege of working with First Lady, Michelle Obama on her Let's Move Campaign where he created the GimmeFive routine that was performed on Ellen and at The White House. Travis teaches with NUVO Dance Convention. @TravisWall.

SHAPING SOUND was established in Los Angeles in 2012 with a focus on contemporary dance and choreographic artistry by Travis Wall, along with partners Nick Lazzarini, Teddy Forance and Kyle Robinson. The company is an evocative collaboration by diverse artists who describe themselves as 'visual musicians' i.e. their dance gives shape and form to sound. SHAPING SOUND has impacted audiences with a unique fusion of jazz, modern and hip-hop choreography.

The four young dancers broke into public awareness with the debut of their reality television series All The Right Moves on the Oxygen channel which followed them in their quest to launch the dance company. Since that time, they have been showcased on all of America's popular prime time dance, awards, entertainment and music shows, including: So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, Glee and The 2013 Prime Time Emmy Awards. They were featured in Carrie Underwood's Grammy Award-winning music video Something In The Water, and they are frequent guests on The Ellen Show.

After The Curtain is the second show for the eclectic dance company, following on the heels of their spell-binding Dance Reimagined, which toured North America for four years.
