ALADDIN AND THE WONDERFUL LAMP Opens Friday at Adventure Theatre MTC

By:

Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) brings to the stage Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp with assistance of Middle-Eastern cultural consultants from Iran, India, Morocco, and Egypt among others. Directed by Roberta Gasbarre, based on the original story, Book of One Thousand and One Nights, and supported by the Weissberg Foundation's Fund for Diversity in Theatre, this multicultural cast and production team is bringing the magic of Arabia to DC families. Aladdin and The Wonderful Lamp is recommended for all ages and opens April 7, 2017. Tickets are $19.50 each and can be purchased online at www.adventuretheatre-mtc.org or by calling 301.634.2270.

"There is a lot of confusion and prejudice surrounding people's ideas of the Middle East, especially in today's world," Artistic Director Michael Bobbitt says. "This is a fantastic opportunity for Adventure Theatre to not only celebrate the culture and the people of the Middle East, but to also assist with the next generation's understanding and celebration of our differences."

Aladdin and his love, the princess Badroulbadour (Adora), must outsmart an evil Magician who wants to use the genie in Aladdin's lamp for his nefarious schemes! Get ready for love, magic, and mystery in this production recommended for all ages.
