Waterbury Festival Playhouse Presents AUGUST OSAGE COUNTY

By:

Waterbury Festival Playhouse Presents AUGUST OSAGE COUNTY ImageWaterbury Festival Playhouse's 2018 season opens on June 28 with Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning and Tony Award-winning play, August: Osage County. Full of blistering, funny dialogue, August: Osage County shook audiences to their core when it first opened in 2007, exploring the perils and pitfalls of a family's relationships with each other and the struggles of addiction.

When alcoholic patriarch Beverly Weston goes missing, the Weston family reunites for the first time in years. Daughters Barbara, Ivy and Karen reluctantly return home with in-laws, cousins, grandchildren and new beaus in tow. Mix in Violet, their cancer-stricken, drugged up, pill-popping mother. Old grievances are aired, family secrets are spilled, and cutting remarks-especially those from Violet-take deadly aim. Brutal yet hilarious, August: Osage County exposes the dark underbelly of the modern American family.

This show marks the 12th season at Waterbury Festival Playhouse. If you want to see why people keep coming back to the WFP, then you need to see this show.
