Imagine standing on stage with a few friends and absolutely no idea of what will happen next. Now - be funny. Really funny.
That's the challenge of improvisational comedy - improv, for short. And nobody does it better than Otter Nonsense, the hilarious improv troupe from Middlebury College.
Otter Nonsense returns to Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Friday, March 11, at 8 pm., after a triumphant debut at THT last year.
"Otter Nonsense had people falling on the floor when they played here last year," says THT executive director Douglas Anderson. "They've always been a hit on campus, but last year was the first time a lot of people in town had a chance to see them. It was one of those evenings when people laughed so hard they hurt."
The group stresses that their material is always rated PG, appropriate for the entire family. Improv groups can often go for the scatological reference - an easy laugh - but Otter Nonsense prides itself on not taking that route.
Otter Nonsense invades Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Friday, March 11. 8:00 pm. Tickets are $12/$6 Middlebury Student ID, and may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, 382-9222, at the THT box Office (Mon-Sat, Noon-5 pm), or at the door.
