Don Pasquale, Live in HD from the Met At Town Hall Theater 11/13
An indispensable part of any Metropolitan Opera season is a true bel canto opera. This year, a pearl, Donizetti's Don Pasquale, provides the balance to other weightier vocal productions in the Met season including, notably, Wagner's four-part Ring Cycle.
In Don Pasquale, Anna Netrebko returns to the role that made her a Met star-the feisty young widow Norina. Otto Schenk directs what has been called an "joyous production" of the comedy. James Levine conducts the stellar cast including Mariusz Kwiecien, Matthew Polenzani, and John Del Carlo in the title role.
Don Pasquale will be broadcast "Live in HD" at Town Hall Theater on Saturday, November 13 at 1:00 pm, with an Encore presentation on Monday, November 15 at 7:00 pm. Tickets, $22, with a $10 student price for the Encore, are available by calling the THT Box Office at 802-382-9222, online at www.townhalltheater.org, or in person on Merchants Row, Middlebury (Monday - Saturday, noon-5 pm).
