Each of our songs this season speaks to the hearts of our singers. What we all need - what they all seek - is elemental and universal. Time: 19:00-21:00
A right to the absence of fear and hunger and othering. And the right to the presence of love and nurturing and belonging.
Each day we can remodel and repaint telling, shaping and reshaping our own stories. And of the place we create, we have the right to call that place home.
As we approach our fifteenth year of singing together we continue to be inspired by the power of community. Our singers offer up their Monday nights for fourteen short weeks in exchange for an opportunity to be with others, share an activity, a common experience and become something bigger than themselves. In a world where tech-gadgetry is both your trusted friend and self-destructive, a concept as simple as choir (singing together) could become the antidote –– the healing energy to help you get through your week. Our December 7th Concert Everyday People celebrates everything about how ordinary people become something extraordinary when they work, play, sing and rise up together.
SingYourJoy never fails to deliver a memorable performance. This year we have put together an evening of choral pieces that will delight and inspire. With new compositions, crowd favourites, special guests and even a few surprises, we know you will be thrilled with this season’s choir.
Founded in 2011 as a barrier-free organization, SingYourJoy quickly became Victoria's premier young adult choir. With the experience of dozens of artistically exceptional concerts and audiences that keep returning for more, the SingYourJoy Young Adult Chorus performance is one of the not-to-be-missed events of the choral season.
SingYourJoy Young Adult Chorus is under the direction of Co-Founders Christine Chepyha and Gordon Miller, with Associate Director Jennifer Turner.
Dave Dunnet Community Theatre is at 2121 Cadboro Bay Road, Victoria, BC.
