Vancouver International Tap Dance Fest Continues at Orpheum Annex

The renowned Vancouver International Tap Festival (VITF) continues to set the pace in the wonderful world of contemporary tap dance. Globally recognized and revered as one of the top events of its kind the 18th annual showcase includes a roster of top International Artists and two unique performances of the very best of the thriving dance genre that is electrifying and joyful entertainment excellence.

Direct from New York City and kicking off the Festival is Caleb Teicher and Co, performing on Friday, August 25th at the Orpheum Annex, 823 Seymour St. at 8pm will continue to take North America by storm, beginning with Teicher's creative interpretation of Bach's Goldberg Variations.

The following evening, Saturday, August 26 @ 8pm at the Orpheum Annex, spectacular dancer/choreographer, Jason Janas will dig deep, for a heartfelt sharing of his own two-decade story, through the complexities of the art form,

The final beat of VITF's unique tap extravaganza features the unbeatable combination of tap, live music and great food. The show-stopping interaction and improvisation of Festival tap artists and the Robin Layne Band will take place in the perfect venue, Frankie's Jazz Bar, Sunday, August, 27, @8:00 pm). This special evening will close the Festival on a highly social note after three memorable days of growing Vancouver's footprint as a hotbed of tap.

Throughout the premier weekend, an impressive collection of master classes takes place at the Scotiabank Dance Centre, (August 25-27). On Tap are the essentials for every adult and youth who want to practice and perfect our beloved art form.
