Broadway Across Canada Announces On Sale Date For New Subscribers For 2018/2019 Season

In January 2018, Broadway Across Canada announced the three musical productions coming to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre as part of the company's 2018-2019 season. "We wanted to pull out all the stops for our 20th anniversary season," says Broadway Across Canada's vice-president, Shana Levin. "The shows we're bringing include powerful true stories about community, empowerment, and the power of the human spirit," she says. "They're stories we could all learn from right now."

Three show Season packages start at $145 and are available on Thursday, March 22 for new 2018/2019 subscribers. Packages are on sale online at www.BroadwayAcrossCanada.ca or by phone at 866.542.7469 (Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm).

The 2018/2019 season will begin with the Tony and Grammy Award-winning true story, BEAUTIFUL - THE Carole King MUSICAL. Up next, direct from Broadway, comes THE ILLUSIONISTS, a high-tech magic extravaganza. The season concludes with the previously announced homegrown Canadian musical, the uplifting, critically acclaimed COME FROM AWAY.

In addition to your three show package, you can also add these two special additions to the regular line-up, featuring Cameron Mackintosh's new production of the Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, LES MISÉRABLES.

Back by popular demand after record breaking and sold out engagements in 2014 and 2016, The BOOK OF MORMON returns to Vancouver for a limited one week engagement in 2018.

Additionally, Levin is proud to announce the winner of six 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and 2018 Grammy Award nominee DEAR EVAN HANSEN will play Vancouver as part of the 2019/2020 season. Subscribers from the 2018/2019 season will have first access to DEAR EVAN HANSEN when they renew their full subscription for the 2019/2020 season. The dates and performance schedule will be announced at a later date.

Declared "One of the most remarkable shows in musical theater history" by the Washington Post, DEAR EVEN HANSEN is a new American musical about life and the way we live it. DEAR EVEN HANSEN features a book by Tony Award-winner Steven Levenson, a score by Academy Award, Golden Globe and Tony winning composers Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman), and direction by 4-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal).

The Original Broadway Cast Recording of DEAR EVAN HANSEN, produced by Atlantic Records, made an extraordinary debut on the Billboard 200 when released and entered the chart at #8 - the highest charting debut position for an original cast album since 1961. A special edition coffee table book from Pasek, Paul, and Levenson, Dear Evan Hansen: through the window (Grand Central Publishing / Melcher) is now available, offering an in-depth, all-access look at the musical, including never-before-seen production photos and cast portraits, behind-the-scenes stories, and a fully annotated script by the authors.

BEAUTIFUL - The Carole King Musical - November 13 - 18, 2018

Beautiful - The Carole King Musical tells the inspiring true story of King's remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.

Featuring a stunning array of beloved songs written by Gerry Goffin/Carole King and Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil, including "I Feel The Earth Move," "One Fine Day," "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," "You've Got A Friend" and the title song, BEAUTIFUL has a book by and Tony Award-nominee and Academy Award-nominated writer Douglas McGrath, direction by Marc Bruni, choreography by Josh Prince, and took home two 2014 Tony Awards and a 2015 Grammy Award.

THE ILLUSIONISTS - January 15 - 20, 2019

Cameron Mackintosh presents the new production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables, direct from its acclaimed Broadway return.
