According to The Stage, the tour of the new musical Heaven on Earth, which was set to star Kerry Ellis and Russell Watson, has been cancelled.

The show, based on the biblical story of Adam and Even, was supposed to play for five months in arenas around the UK.

A series of emails was sent to the cast stating that the producers were facing "serious financial difficulties" forcing the tour to stop rehearsals immediately. The cast had been in rehearsals for nine weeks and the tour was set to begin on December 4 in Birmingham.

An email from producer Andrew Burt stated, "We have explored every possible option, but now have no other choice but to accept this situation."

Heaven on Earth was written by Sara Jeffs and was to be directed and choreographed by Racky Plews.
