Sheffield Theatres welcome critically acclaimed theatre company Told By An Idiot to the Studio Theatre next month with their hilarious new comedy Never Try This At Home. An irreverent homage to Saturday morning TV shows such as Tiswas and Going Live, this show promises to take audiences back to a long lost era of custard pies, buckets of water and presenters under pressure from Tuesday 18 March - Saturday 22 March.

Inspired by legendary Saturday morning TV shows, Never Try This At Home reunites the remaining survivors of fictional TV show Shushi - a show so anarchic in its time that adults and children watched in their millions, until one fatal transmission, where the female presenter was pushed over the edge, an obsessive fan resorted to desperate measures and Phil Collins was locked in his dressing room.

Accompanied by a local house band on stage each night, prepare to watch the action unfold as the spotlight is thrown on the forced smiles and bad dress sense of 1970's TV and the presenters soon discover the darker side of fame.

Written by Carl Grose and Told By An Idiot, Never Try This At Home is directed by co- Artistic Director Paul Hunter and is a co-production with Birmingham Repertory Theatre and Soho Theatre, London. The cast includes Petra Massey (co-Artistic Director of Spymonkey) alongside Stephen Harper, Dudley Rees and Ged Simmons.

Never Try This At Home is an hilarious, violent and disturbing exposé of the world of TV and fame and celebrates Told By An Idiot's 21st birthday as one of the UK's leading and most inventive touring theatre companies.

Never Try This At Home is on stage at the Studio Theatre from Tuesday 18 - Saturday 22 March and is suitable for ages 15+. Tickets are priced from £15.50 - £18.50 and can be purchased by calling the Box Office on 0114 249 6000 or by visiting sheffieldtheatres.co.uk (a transaction fee of £1.50 (£1.00 online) applies to all bookings made at the Box Office, excluding cash.)
