Theatre503 Presents Annie Hulley's DOG DAYS, 25 February -22 March

By:

Battersea's Theatre503 and Anchra Productions will debut the first play by acclaimed actress Annie Hulley titlted DOG DAYS. The piece will run at the south London venue from Tuesday 25 February through Saturday 22 March. DOG DAYS is a dark comedy about love, loss and real estate and is directed by Theatre503 Associate Artistic Director Lisa Cagnacci. Annie, best known as a stage and screen actress, has turned to writing in order to create more characters for older actresses.

What do you do when your world turns upside down? Cate and John's marriage has hit the rocks. Now they're trapped in a nightmarish limbo while they struggle to sell the family home. When a rather unusual young couple fall in love with the house, it looks like the answer to their prayers - but be careful what you wish for...

Annie Hulley won a scholarship to study drama at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and since then has worked extensively as an actress performing at the Royal Court, The Bush, Bristol Old Vic, and the Sheffield Crucible. For television she is best known for her role as Karen Moore in ITV's EMMERDALE and Gwen Loveday in CORONATION STREET. Her recent television credits include DATES (Channel 4), SIRENS (Channel 4), SKINS (E4).

Annie's comedy sitcom was chosen by The Bear Cat for their opening night, with Judy Craymer (MAMMA MIA) mentoring Annie on the Carlton Comedy writer's course. From there she went on to the Eastenders Academy to develop her skills in television writing, before writing regularly as a story liner for Channel 5's FAMILY AFFAIRS.

Lisa Cagnacci is Associate Artistic Director at Theatre503, where she has directed BILLY CHICKENS IS A PSYCHOPATH SUPERSTAR (Theatre503/Latitude), CONFESSIONAL (Theatre503/ALRA) and several short plays including work by Jon Brittain, Brad Birch, Dominic Cavendish, Gemma Langford and Melissa Bubnic. Projects she has curated for 503 include THIS YEAR IT WILL BE DIFFERENT, HACKED and the annual LABFEST festival. Lisa was previously an associate at Southwark Playhouse.

DOG DAYS will run Tuesday 25 February through Saturday 22 March 2014 with a press night on Friday 28 February 2014 at 7.45pm. Shows are at 7:45pm Tuesday to Saturday and 5:00pm Sundays. The venue is at Theatre503, 503 Battersea Park Road, SW11 3BW.
