The Search Is On For Sharks And Jets In West Bromwich Operatic Society's WEST SIDE STORY

Following their production of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert in April, West Bromwich Operatic Society return to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from 27 November - 1 December 2018 to celebrate their 80th Anniversary and Leonard Bernstein's Centenary with an electrifying new production of WEST SIDE STORY.

Rehearsals have just begun but a few spaces remain for members to join the ensemble for roles in the warring gangs The Sharks and The Jets. Males between the ages of 16 - 30 who are interested in auditioning should contact company secretary Hilary on 0121 550 3667 or email hilary@wbos.co.uk.

The world's greatest love story takes to the streets as Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City, where two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the Jets and the Sharks.

Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time and features some of musical theatre's most loved songs, including: Somewhere, Maria, America, Tonight and I Feel Pretty.

WEST SIDE STORY is choreographed by Steve Elias, who is most noted for his work in BBC 2's Our Dancing Town, but also has a celebrated career as a West End performer and choreographer.

Tickets for WEST SIDE STORY from 27 Nov - 1 Dec 2018 are now on sale by visiting the Grand Theatre in person, calling 01902 42 92 12 or online at grandtheatre.co.uk.
