THE MARLOWE Theatre welcomed its pantomime cast to Canterbury yesterday (Monday).

Peter Pan may be nearly six months away, but the actors, headed by Shaun Williamson, Wendi Peters, and Gemma Hunt, spent the day filming the TV advert and social media videos, recording the radio advert voiceover, and being photographed and interviewed.

Shaun, a regular visitor to The Marlowe but perhaps best known for his roles in EastEnders and Extras, will play Captain Hook. The 52 year old, who lives near Maidstone, said: "As a Man of Kent, it's a home-town gig, and I'm delighted!

"This is my third Marlowe pantomime, and I've appeared here in the plays One Man, Two Guvnors and Out of Order, as well as [comedian] Dave Lee's shows, so it's not like I've ever been away!

Shaun played Hook in Crawley last year, and it's a role he loves: "My Hook is dastardly, and very loyal to the Disney film character - that's most children's experience of him, so it makes sense."
