SHERLOCK Holmes and Scandi crime feature at The Marlowe Studio, Canterbury, next month (July).

Fresh from their success in the Royal Shakespeare Company's A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Canterbury Players are back at The Marlowe from Thursday 30 to Saturday 2 July. Their version of The Hound Of The Baskervilles is a wonderfully barking makeover of Holmes' most famous case.

The Marlowe Friends present Memories Of Vienna on Sunday 3 July. This evening for fans of operetta will feature the melodies of Lehar, Kalman, Stolz and other popular composers, presented by Cameo Opera.

Phoenix Performing Arts bring Disney's The Little Mermaid Junior to The Marlowe Studio on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 July. Adapted from the 2008 Broadway production, it is set in a magical kingdom fathoms below, and features songs including the Oscar-winning Under The Sea.

Fabric (Thursday 21 and Friday 22 July) is a raw, poignant and unflinching look at the unravelling of one woman's life.

Leah is sorting through all the stuff that has accumulated in her spare room: clothes she doesn't wear, books she doesn't read, things she doesn't need. Constantly reliving events in her past; she desperately tries to unpick just where it all went wrong and who is really to blame.

This new play by rising star Abi Zakarian questions the shifting roles and expectations of women in today's society and asks how, if ever, they can be fulfilled. It stars Nancy Sullivan, whose performance in The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice at both the West Yorkshire Playhouse and Birmingham Rep received critical acclaim last year.

Roseacre (Saturday 23 July) is the story of murder and betrayal, inspired by Scandinavian crime thrillers.

After a body is discovered at a demonstration, a tangled web of deception and hypocrisy is unearthed. Is anyone who they say they are? And how far will they go to keep their secrets?

Using Square Peg Theatre's distinct cinematic style - with artistic mentoring from internationally-renowned theatre company Complicité - Roseacre blends beautifully choreographed physical theatre with a powerful character-driven story.

Enjoy some of the best up-and-coming names in stand-up at The Marlowe Comedy Club (Saturday 30 July). Headliner Daniel Simonsen will be joined by Tom Toal, Harriet Kemsley and Mark Smith.
