The Arches to Welcome Zane Lowe, 7 Dec

The Arches will welcome BBC Radio One DJ Zane Lowe on Sat 7th December 2013 | 11PM-3AM | £15+ bf at The Arches, 253 Argyle Street, Glasgow G2 8DL.

On the 7th of December The Arches welcomes Radio One DJ, presenter, and all-round music guru Zane Lowe for the very first time.

In the ten years since he started at BBC Radio One Zane Lowe has firmly established himself right at the cutting edge when it comes to new music. He was one of the first radio DJs to give airtime to breakthrough acts like Kasabian, the Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, and Gnarls Barkley, while his evening shows have a reputation for presenting the very best tracks from new, alternative, and established artists.

As a DJ Lowe has played sets supporting for the likes of Radiohead, the Foo Fighters, and The Prodigy. With his considerable mixing skills and a creative style that blends elements of hip hop, techno, drum & bass, and just about everything else besides to great effect, his sets are always wildly energetic and eclectic. With support from Austrian electronic duo Klangkarussell plus Scottish rave-fave and Death Disco veteran Hostage, Zane Lowe's debut Arches show promises to be an absolute treat.

The Arches breaks down traditional notions of what an arts venue should be. One of Europe's leading cultural venues, this buzzing Victorian space promotes some of the UK's biggest club nights, an eclectic range of gigs, innovative theatre, visual art exhibitions and imaginative corporate events.
