Coventry's Belgrade Theatre will welcome Olivier Award Winner, Tony Award Winner, Variety Award Winner, and Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Tom Conti in the new U.K tour of Twelve Angry Men from Mon 9 - Sat 14 Feb. The acclaimed touring production will make its Midlands premiere in Coventry this February following a record-breaking run at the Garrick Theatre in the West End. Tom Conti will be reprising his role as Juror number 8, a role made famous by Henry Fonda in the 1957 Academy award-nominated film of the same name.

He will be joined on stage by new jury member Andrew Lancel, best known for playing the villainous businessman Frank Foster in Coronation Street. Taking their places on the jury once more are Robert Duncan, best known for his role as the as jargon-spouting chief executive Gus Hedges in Drop The Dead Donkey, Andrew Frame, who starred as P.C Hargreaves in EastEnders, David Calvitto, whose many theatre credits include These Shining Lives and The Odd Couple, Mark Carter, whose TV credits include Hollyoaks, Utopia and The Knock and Sean Power, who starred in ITV's Secret Diary of a Call Girl and Fright Night 2. Jon Carver, who has had a recurring role in Doctors, returns to play The Guard.

Tom Conti is one of the most respected and celebrated actors of his generation. Unforgettable as the leading man in hit films such as Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence and Shirley Valentine, he has also appeared as myriad different characters on both the big and small screens as well as on stage. Recent movies include The Dark Knight Rises and Street Dance. Awards include an Olivier Award and a Tony Award for his stage performance in Whose Life is it Anyway? and a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his role in Reuben Reuben. He and Dame Judi Dench were recently jointly voted the Most Popular Actors in the West End in the last 25 years.

Lauded as one of the great 'must-see' movies of all time, Reginald Rose's Twelve Angry Men originated as a television play and has been successfully adapted for film, radio and stage. The 1957 Academy Award nominated film version starred and was produced by Henry Fonda.

This production is directed by Christopher Haydon and designed by Michael Pavelka.

Twelve Angry Men follows twelve jurors who have murder on their minds and a life in their hands as they decide the fate of a young delinquent accused of killing his father. But what appears to be an open and shut case soon becomes a dilemma for the twelve, as their prejudices and preconceived ideas about the accused, the trial and each other turn the tables every which way, until the nail-biting climax...

Twelve Angry Men plays on the Belgrade Main Stage from Mon 9 - Sat 14 Feb. Tickets are priced from £17.75 - £32.75 with concessions available. Bookings are available via the Box Office on 024 7655 3055 or online 24 hours a day at www.belgrade.co.uk.
