THE TRAGEDY OF MARIAM Opens at Lazarus Theatre Today
Award Winning Lazarus Theatre Company returns for an Autumn Season of new discoveries and ambitious developments today.
The season begins today with the first play written by a woman, the sensational, The Tragedy of Mariam. The production marks the plays professional London stage debut as well as Lazarus' return to The Camden Fringe at The Tristan Bates Theatre.
The King is dead; the Queen must face her people. As the truth about King Herod's passing unravels, Mariam must face those who promise persecution, recrimination and damnation. Love, sex, adultery and seduction, a Woman's voice is central to this ensemble production.

The season then continues with Shakespeare's controversial comedy, The Merchant of Venice, set against a global financial meltdown.
Antonio, with assets tied to investments, finds his commitments lead him to one of the greatest characters of all time, Shylock. Their embittered rivalry leads to a fight to the death. Venice will never be the same again.
