The Wyvern Theatre will welcome a wondrous variety of shows to Swindon throughout Winter 2013 and Spring 2014.

"The Winter-Spring season promises Swindon theatregoers a true variety of quality productions to inspire and entertain," said Theatre Director Derek Aldridge. "I am particularly looking forward to seeing the iconic play The Mousetrap on the Wyvern stage and to hearing the whodunit theories of our audiences. The very best comedians will be here along with ballet, opera, live music and, of course the best family panto in the West!"

The legendary, record-breaking smash-hit thriller The Mousetrap will run at the Wyvern Theatre as part of its 60th Anniversary tour. Other shows scheduled to perform at Swindon's number one entertainment venue include the most innovative forces in modern dance, Balletboyz; the musical for all time, Blood Brothers; the outrageous Girls' Night Out musical, Hot Flush; a spectacular adaptation of JM Barrie's magical story, Peter Pan On Ice; and a touching and hilarious brand-new one woman musical, Some Girl I Used to Know, starring Denise Van Outen.

"I am extremely excited to be touring the UK for the first time with my new show and look forward to sharing it with the people of Swindon," said Denise Van Outen, who has co-written the romantic comedy with Terry Ronald.

Accompanying the Wyvern Theatre's performances are a series of events in The Place, formerly known as the Wyvern Theatre's restaurant, directly above the Wyvern Theatre's café-bar and foyer. Whovians are invited to The Place after the BBC's 50th Anniversary programme ends for The Doctor's After Party; The Flaming Feathers return this Christmas with their sultry sound and Burlesque routines; and, as an alternative Valentine's Day, The Place will welcome all singletons for a fun and flirty evening of Speed Dating.

The brand-new season brochure also unveils a full programme of free events and activities for the theatre's Family Fun Day on Saturday 2 November. The fun day, which forms part of the UK-wide Family Arts Festival during the October half-term, will give families an opportunity to get up close with their favourite characters including Daisy the Cow from this year's pantomime, Mr Potato from Peppa Pig and The Gruffalo! Swindon Dance, Swindon Central Library and The Bandstand will also have events and activities taking place on the day.
