THE ADDAMS FAMILY Comes to the Peoples Theatre Tonight

The weird and wonderful family comes to devilishly delightful life in THE ADDAMS FAMILY at the Peoples Theatre in April. The show is being staged by the North East based reputable productions company Nice Swan Theatre Company who have grabbed the rights and are one of the first to be producing the show in the UK. This magnificently macabre new musical comedy is written by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice with music by Drama Desk Award winner Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party).

THE ADDAMS FAMILY features an original story, and it's every father's nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that weren't't upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before - keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's "normal" boyfriend.

The Addams Family is being produced by Jamie Gray (23, from Whickham) who also manages a childrens performance Academy based in Gateshead. "I'm so pleased to have been given the license to stage this show next year - it's a musical that's never been done before outside of the USA. We have a great creative team working on the show and I think it's going to be something very special. Everyone knows the Addams Family so hopefully it will be popular with Newcastle audiences".
