SKET to Play Park Theatre

PMJ Productions present the World Premiere of Sket, by Maya Sondhi, at Park Theatre (PARK90) from 19th April - 14th May. Designed and directed by Prav MJ, this insightful play follows the lives of six young adults as they negotiate the minefield of technological advances, ever-changing laws and moral dilemmas. Mistakes happen but now they can remain forever in the virtual domain. Press Night is Thursday 21st April, 7pm.

Maya Sondhi is best known as an actress for playing long-suffering daughter Shazia Khan in 'Citizen Khan' (BBC One) and soon to be seen as WPC Maneet Bindra in the third series of drama 'Line of Duty' (BBC Two). As a writer, Sondhi has written for 'EastEnders' (BBC One) as well as the popular Sky 1 comedy 'Mount Pleasant' and 'The Kumars' (Hat Trick for Sky 1). Sket is her first play.

Set in an inner city school, where the teenagers are obsessed with 21st century technology. Living their lives through social media, where 'sexting' and 'selfies' are the norm and access to sexual imagery is available 24/7, what are the real costs...?

In the cast are Laura Gardiner, Anna O'Grady, Tessie Orange-Turner, Olivia Elsden, Dave Perry, Tom Ratcliffe and Romario Simpson.

Accompanying the play are a host of free post-show talks with speakers including journalists David Cohen, Julie Bindel and Tanith Carey as well as a variety of charities and campaigning bodies (details overleaf). There will also be an art exhibition during the run in Park Theatre's gallery entitled "Young People in the Digital Age", curated by PMJ Productions with PYMCA (Photographic Youth Music Culture Archive) which is the specialist image and research library for global youth culture, lifestyle and music.
