Photo Flash: THE PITMEN PAINTERS UK Tour Visits 'Pitmen Paintings'

As a new UK tour of THE PITMEN PAINTERS is announced, the cast had an opportunity during rehearsals to visit the Woodhorn Museum and Northumberland, where the original works of the Ashington Group are displayed, including a newly displayed work by Jimmy Floyd, who appears in the play as one of the main characters. Accompanied by Artistic Director of Live Theatre Max Roberts, Joe Caffrey, Philip Correia, Suzy Cooper, Catherine Dryden, Louis Hilyer, Riley Jones, Nicholas Lumley and Donald McBride (who will star as 'Jimmy Floyd') attended a talk by William Feaver, the art critic whose book inspired Lee Hall's stage play.

The Pitmen Painters appears at Newcastle Theatre Royal from 1- 6 July 2013 and the Civic Theatre, Darlington from 8 - 13 July. For more information and other UK tour dates, see www.kenwright.com.
