Photo Flash: First Look at Alex Parker Productions' Revised MARGUERITE

Alex Parker Productions, in agreement with Bouberg Productions, presents the premiere of the revised version of MARGUERITE with Music by Michel Legrand, Lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and Book by Alain Boublil & Guy Unsworth. The show runs now through October 27, 2012 at TABARD THEATRE. Press night is October 9th. Get a first look at the production in the photos below!
The show features orchestration/arrangements and musical adaptation by Jude Obermuller, original book by Alain Boublil, Claude Michel Schonberg & Jonathan Kent and original French Lyrics by Alain Boublil, with additional lyrics by John Dempsey, Callum McIntyre & Alain Boublil.
1942, Nazi Occupied Paris. The French are torn in two: collaborating safely or dangerously resisting the German rule. At its heart is Marguerite, an ageing chanteuse and the kept mistress of a German general, who falls hopelessly in love with a member of the resistance only half her age. Marguerite retells Alexandre Dumas' romantic novel "La Dame aux Camelias", with soaring melodies composed by triple Oscar winner Michel Legrand. This production features a new book, a reworked seven-piece acoustic orchestration as well as brand new Michel Legrand songs. Alain Boublil has been and will be involved in the project. This is the first London revival since the 2008 premiere at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Marguerite's creative team features direction by Guy Unsworth with musical direction by Alex Parker, choreography by Cressida Carre, design by Max Dorey, lighting design by Howard Hudson and sound design by Pete Malkin.
The cast includes Yvette Robinson as MARGUERITE, Zoe Doano (Annette), James Darch (Lucien), Alastair Knights (Pierrot), James Meunier (Ensemble), Nadim Naaman (Armand), Daniel Oliver (Ensemble), Michael Onslow (Otto), Jessica Parker (Ensemble), Helena Raeburn (Ensemble), Jennifer Rhodes (Ensemble) and Mark Turnbull (Georges).
