THE FIRST names have been confirmed for this year's Marlowe Theatre pantomime.

Phil "Mister Maker" Gallagher and Ben Roddy will be returning to the venue for Aladdin; both were big successes in the 2013/14 production of Jack And The Beanstalk, which was seen by more than 90,000 people.

CBeebies star Phil, who was born in Kent and still lives here, is Wishee Washee, while Ben will once again play the dame: this time, Widow Twankey.

Phil said: "I am absolutely delighted to be returning to my favourite theatre in the whole world!

"The cast and crew of Jack And The Beanstalk were overwhelmed by the positive reaction that the show received. I am determined to create an even better experience this year and make Aladdin a sensational show.

"As Mister Maker, I'll be travelling and touring extensively this year, but how lovely to be returning home to Kent for Christmas."

Aladdin producer Paul Hendy said he was thrilled Phil and Ben are making a comeback: "They are two of the most talented pantomime performers in the country, and with them on board, we know it's going to be another incredible show."

Further casting is to be announced. Aladdin runs at The Marlowe Theatre from Friday 28 November to Sunday 11 January 2015. For times and ticket details, call the Box Office on 01227 787787, or go to marlowetheatre.com.
