Ore Oduba, Tim Vine And Cat Sandion To Star In CINDERELLA At Croydon Fairfield Halls

Imagine Theatre and Fairfield Halls, Croydon are delighted that TV star and Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba will be making his pantomime debut as 'Dandini' in this year's family pantomime, Cinderella.

Cinderella will play in the world-class 1,802 seat Phoenix Concert Hall from Tuesday 10 December 2019 to Sunday 5 January 2020, with a press night on Thursday 12 December, and will be one of the highlights of an eclectic Autumn/Winter season at the newly re-launched Croydon Fairfield Halls, which officially opens on Monday 16 September 2019.

Will the evil Ugly Sisters thwart the path of true love for Cinderella and her Prince Charming or will her Fairy Godmother help save the day? Bring the whole family along to the Fairfield Halls this Christmas to find out, you'll have a ball!

Ore will be known to audience members young and old from his many TV appearances including The One Show, This Morning and of course winning the fourteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing with his partner Joanne Clifton. Ore will be joined by comedian Tim Vine as 'Buttons' and CBeebies presenter Cat Sandion as 'Fairy Godmother', and a team of talented youngsters from Croydon and the surrounding areas - who were selected after a busy open audition at Croydon Town Hall on 30 June.

Producer and Imagine Theatre MD Steve Boden said, 'We had a fantastic turnout for the juvenile chorus auditions for Cinderella, over 130 children attended. It was great to see so many people wanting to be part of our pantomime at the Fairfield halls this Christmas. We had the very difficult job of whittling it down to just 24 children as the standard was so high, there is a lot of talent in Croydon. We are very happy with our choices and we would just like to thank everyone who came along for being so brilliant and encourage them to please try again next year'.

Ore Oduba said:-"I have been wanting to do pantomime for a long time and when this opportunity came up I just couldn't say no. Not only is it alongside two of my pals Tim and Cat who I have worked with before, but I also can't wait to appear in the first pantomime at the newly refurbished Fairfield Halls. Although it'll be a new experience for me, many people will know I'm rarely happier than when I'm on stage singing and dancing. And, of course, anyone who's seen me and Craig Revel Horwood on the Strictly Live Tour (often in a precarious position!) will know I do love a bit of Panto. With this cast and creative team - and some amazing audiences in Croydon - I know there'll be a lot of laughs along the way. I can't wait to get started".
