Latest Work from THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG Team Comes to The Marlowe

Described as "Ocean's Eleven meets the Marx Brothers" The Comedy About A Bank Robbery is touring following a successful run in London's West End. Set in Minneapolis in the summer of 1958, it tells the story of a priceless diamond which has been entrusted to the city bank.

An escaped convict is set on pocketing the gem with the help of his screwball sidekick, trickster girlfriend - and the maintenance man. With mistaken identities, love triangles and hidden agendas, even the most reputable can't be trusted. In a town where everyone's a crook, who will end up bagging the jewel?

The production is from Mischief Theatre, a comedy theatre company first formed in 2008 by a group of graduates and students of The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Since first forming, the company has created and presented a number of productions across the UK and in Europe.

Their first major production was The Play That Goes Wrong, which began life being performed in a room above a pub, but ended up in the West End and on Broadway. It won Mischief Theatre an Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in 2015. Translated versions of the show are now running on every continent except Antarctica. Mischief Theatre were also behind Peter Pan Goes Wrong.

The Comedy About A Bank Robbery is at The Marlowe Theatre from Tuesday 18 to Saturday 22 September, with performances at 2.30pm (Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday) and 7.30pm. Tickets, priced from £22.25 to £38.25 (concessions available) can be purchased from the Box Office on 01227 787787, and marlowetheatre.com.
