Integrated Dance Company Stopgap Presents Moving New Show at The Point

On Thursday 8th February integrated dance company Stopgap presents The Enormous Room at The Point; a moving exploration of grief, told through contemporary dance.

In The Enormous Room, the past is still present and memories collide with reality. Combining exquisite movement with evocative design, the production takes the audience on a journey between this world and the next.

Stopgap Dance Company is one of the country's leading pioneers in creating integrated and fully inclusive performance. The company's work features disabled and non-disabled performers, including David O'Toole, a professional dancer who performed in the opening ceremony of the 2012 Paralympics.

As part of The Point's headline and support strand, The Enormous Room will be preceded by Gibbon; a joyous juggling production by Jose Triguero and Chris Patfield. The venue launched the scheme in 2017 with the aim to introduce emerging artists and companies to new audiences, providing a platform in which to showcase their work. Gibbon will be performed in the Creation Space and is free to ticket-holders of The Enormous Room.

Stopgap were in residence in Creation Space in January developing the new production and shared an excerpt of the show at Open Space; the venue's free-for-all sharing series.
