Holiday on Ice UK launched a spectacular new show, "ENERGIA", in the Earth Galleries at the Natural History Museum in London. The Launch was attended by skaters Lisa Brewin (from Leicester), Katie Brotherhood (from Nottingham), Melody Le Moal (from St-Flour in France) and Jade Whitlock (from Southampton), along with Executive Producer, Hans Staal, and Managing Director of Holiday on Ice in the UK, Jilly Greed. The skaters performed a short excerpt from "ENERGIA" on an ice floor specially laid in the Earth Galleries - this was the first time ice skating had taken place inside the Natural History Museum.

The UK Tour of "ENERGIA" will premiere at the Birmingham LG Arena on 7 & 8 January 2011, and will then continue to the Brighton Centre (11-30 January), Peterborough Exec (3-6 February), Cardiff International Arena (8-13 February) and Exeter Westpoint (18-27 February).
"ENERGIA", performed by some of the world's most talented and exciting ice skaters, tells the story of the universe and how it is connected by energy. Beginning with an exploding Supernova, and continuing with the creation of mankind on Earth, we then visit the worlds of Neptune, Mars and Venus, watch a tango between the Sun and Moon, and finish with a Bollywood-style celebration of Diwali, the annual festival of Light. The story unfolds beneath a 23-tonne set resembling Saturn and its rings, and the lavish and colourful costumes not only depict the planets and constellations, but also all the living creatures of the Earth.
"ENERGIA" is directed and choreographed by Kevin Cottam, who was himself a champion skater and trained and choreographed World and Olympic champions. His co-choreographer on "ENERGIA" is Simone Grigorescu, a former World Professional Champion. The music has been composed by Canadian trio René Dupéré, Ella Louise Allaire and Martin Lord Ferguson - René wrote the first ever original soundtrack for Holiday on Ice, and Ella and Martin have also composed for Cirque du Soleil. Costumes are designed by Roberto Rosello and the set is by Bart Clement, with lighting by Luc Peumans and sound by Leo van den Boogaard. The Executive Producer of "ENERGIA" is Hans Staal. Holiday on Ice is a Stage Entertainment company.

The first ever performance by Holiday on Ice took place on 25 December 1943 in Toledo, Ohio. Holiday on Ice has now been seen by 321 million people and has visited 620 cities in more than 80 countries on five continents. In 1988, it became the most watched ice show of all time, with 250 million visitors, and again in 2003, with 300 million visitors, and again in 2008, with 320 million visitors. Each year, Holiday on Ice employs 250 skaters and produces five shows simultaneously touring 20 countries across three continents.

Tickets for "ENERGIA", priced from £24.00, with all children's tickets at £12.00 (subject to a booking fee) and large savings for groups, are available on 0844 581 1313 or at the individual venues. For more information, visit www.holidayonice.co.uk.
