The final cast and full creative team are today announced and a new production image released as boutique panto masters Charles Court Opera prepare to return to the King's Head Theatre for a third year of pun-tastic, panto-tastic fun with the world premiere of King Tut - A Pyramid Panto.

A now legendary part of North London's Christmas, Charles Court Opera's seasonal are always cheeky, topsy-turvy retellings of myths, legends and fairytales. Expect both the expected and the unexpected, with fabulous musical numbers that add spark and bite to the slapstick, groan-worthy jokes and off piste silliness, mixed up in an inventive cocktail of magic, love and cross-dressing. This is definitely the wackiest pantomime in town!

This year CCO head for the Valley of the Kings and sprinkle their madcap magic across a LUXORiously entertaining, jaw-droppingly hilarious show with a show full of bling-tastic pharoahs, sand dancing, mystery, intrigue and lots of fun, plus some incredible musical arrangements that will keep your toes tapping well into the new year. Don't be in denial - it's only a river in Egypt!

King Tut - A Pyramid Panto will run from Friday 24 November to Saturday 6 January.

The cast - many returning having starred in last year's panto Pinocchio - is now confirmed: Alys Roberts is cool King Tut from the Valleys, Matthew R J Ward is an intrepid explorer, John Savournin and Matthew Kellett will share the role of evil Lord Conniving, Francesca Fenech is his adventurous ward, and Philip Lee has got the hump.

Director John Savournin, Musical Director David Eaton, Choreographer Tara Randell, Set Designer Sean Turner, Costume Design Mia Wallden, Lighting Design Nicholas Holdridge.

The King's Head Theatre was established in 1970. The most ethically and socially responsible fringe theatre in the UK, we are known for our challenging work and support of young artists. Last year 87,031 audience members saw a show of ours: 43,857 at our 110-seater home on Upper Street and 43,174 on tour. At our home in Islington we had 861 performances last year of 84 different shows. We are committed to fighting prejudice through the work we stage, the artists and staff we work with and by producing work for minority audience groups. We believe in fair pay for all on the fringe and create accessible routes for early career artists to stage their work; work we are passionate about. This year we announced the theatre is on the move. In 2018, subject to a fundraising campaign, the King's Head Theatre will move into a custom-built space in the heart of Islington Square, directly behind its current home securing the future of the venue for generations to come.
