Fevered Sleep's Summer Youth Program to Include IT'S THE SKIN YOU'RE LIVING IN

Lead by Artistic Directors Sam Butler and David Harradine, Fevered Sleep is an award winning innovator in theatre-making and cross-art form projects for children and adults, and this summer it's presenting two pieces of work for young children aged 3 - 5, one indoors and one outdoors. In addition their touring installation of IT'S THE SKIN YOU'RE LIVING IN will be part of Kids Day at The Place.

Often inspired by the link between science, nature and the arts, Fevered Sleep's past work includes the trilogy FEAST YOUR EYES, AND THE RAIN FALLS DOWN and BRILLIANT for young audiences; THE WEATHER FACTORY, a site-specific piece for National Theatre Wales, and Young Vic co-productions ABOVE ME THE WIDE BLUE SKY, ON AGEING and THE FOREST.

Imagine it's bedtime. Imagine it's time to turn out the light. Imagine the moon outside, and the stars, bright. Imagine a forest of flickering torches, where the moon comes down to play. Imagine being in a place that is made of light. Imagine how brilliant that would be.

Fevered Sleep is also maKing BrillIANT into a film for children, available from Spring 2014 Brilliant Tea Party - a special matinee and indulgent tea party on Sat 6 July to raise funds towards Fevered Sleep's for with children.

LITTLE UNIVERSE

From the biggest galaxies to the smallest things in the world, LITTLE UNIVERSE reveals the patterns and movements that set everything in motion. A visually striking and playful outdoor performance for under 5's, LITTLE UNIVERSE is about everything that makes up the universe: about how these things move, and how they move with, around, and because of each other. It was seen by over 2500 people in 2012.

22 July Something Happening for the Kids - the Place

A day of dance fun dedicated to under 10s at The Place will include a miniature, multi screen film installation by Fevered Sleep of IT'S THE SKIN YOU'RE LIVING IN.

IT'S THE SKIN YOU'RE LIVING IN is a multi-format film that explores and challenges images of climate change. Shot in locations from the islands of Svalbard in the High Arctic to a kitchen in a house in London, it suggests that climate change isn't a matter just concerning distant landscapes and threatened animals, but is an ever present part of everyone's daily lives.

IT'S THE SKIN YOU'RE LIVING IN is Fevered Sleep's first film and is available to view online, anytime- feveredsleep.co.uk/films
