Touring in the North of England for the first time - following its success at Vault Festival, London and Brighton Festival, 2017 - this high octane performance obliterates the line between epic theatre and energetic gig.

Kneehigh associate artist Dom Coyote stars in this dystopian vision of the future painted with the aid of influences including the star-gazing world of Ziggy Stardust and 1950s rock n' roll. Joining Dom, and appearing as characters, are multi-instrumentalist band the Bloodmoneys, whose members have toured and recorded with artists including Scissor Sisters, Gary Numan, Goldfrapp and Tinie Tempah.

Songs for the End of the World welcomes you to New Albion, a dystopia of suffering and exploitation. While some predict Armageddon, many are simply preparing for the end. The Free Radicals are planning a new type of existence, and while some predict Biblical Armageddon, many are simply preparing for the end. When the apocalypse does actually arrive, astronaut Jim Walters is left suspended in orbit on his way to Mars, broadcasting his songs for the end of the world back to a silent Earth, where others are fighting for their future.

Dom Coyote said: "It's like going to a gig in a parallel universe...a band playing their hearts out for the end of the world, and it's never been more relevant as incredible political events continue to unfold before our eyes. We're thrilled to be able to bring the show to the North of England for the first time, and to the ardent music loving cities of Liverpool and Hull."

Dom Coyote has performed and written music for some of the world's most exciting theatres and companies, from sold out runs at the RSC to ritual theatre and dance across South Africa. He's an associate with Kneehigh, and one of the leading roles in Kneehigh's The Tin Drum which premieres in Liverpool in September; co-founder of Folk in a Box (Britain's only one on one music venue - Sydney Festival, Venice Biennale) and Musical Director for Extraordinary Bodies (Britain's first large scale integrated Circus Company). His most recent credits include While We're Here (Bush Theatre); The Story Fishers (National Theatre); Caucasian Chalk Circle (Unicorn) and Night Before Christmas (West Yorkshire Playhouse). He brings together legendary designer & co-creator of the show Michael Vale (RSC, National Theatre, Kneehigh); co-writer Tom Penn, (Little Bulb, Rash Dash); musician/performer Milly Blue (Basement Jaxx, Scissor Sisters); composer/musician Ted Barnes (Beth Orton, Dead Man's Shoes,); actor/musician John Biddle (Islands, Bush Theatre, The Diary of Samuel Pepys, Radio 4) and drummer, Amanda Dal (Saints Patience).
