ACT NOW! Drama Co Presents THE ADVENTURES OF ROYSON COCKFOSTERS, 7/6-18

By:

ACT NOW! Drama Company Presents THE ADVENTURES OF ROYSTON COCKFOSTERS July 6-18 at the Greenwich Playhouse. Written & directed by David Hunt, THE ADVENTURES OF ROYSTON COCKFOSTERS is a comedy that follows the incompetent adventurer and explorer, Royston Cockfosters.

Royston and his companions, Wilberforce and Corrine (Coz) Worthy set off on a perilous trek into deepest darkest Africa in search of the mystical Jewel de Magica! – A stone that enables its owner to perform ‘real’ magic. They are chasing a misguided magician, The Great Gerardo (alias Gerard Blooth) and his beautiful assistant, Dastardina Dangle, a mistress of disguise! Blooth is desperate to gain the stones power. So, it’s a battle against time as Royston and his brave team confront the devilish Queen Po of the Oom Poo Poo tribe – (alias criminally insane underwear manufacturer Pauline Murcheson) who cruelly abuses her gentle daughter, Karina, in her attempts to achieve the greatest prize of all…

THE ADVENTURES OF ROYSTON COCKFOSTERS is the eighth production presented by the Act Now! Drama Company, following on from their production of SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES, and the interpretation of SOPHOCLES ELECTRA at The Courtyard.

Director/Writer/Producer David Hunt’s recent productions include Something Wicked This Way Comes at The Greenwich Playhouse, Electra at The Courtyard, Coward’s Way, The Passion of Henrik Ibsen, That Happy Feeling!, Mind Games and The Tragedy of Federico Garcia Lorca at The Broadway Studio Theatre, West End Gold at The Gaiety Theatre (IOM), Beyond Therapy at Swansea Grand Theatre. His other directing credits include Blood Wedding, As You Like It, The Tempest and Blithe Spirit at The Barn Theatre, When You Wish at Windsor, Yerma, Present Laughter and Much Ado About Nothing at Dramascope Studios and over 90 showcase performances at Rose Bruford College. David trained at The Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and continues to work as an actor. He is the Artistic Director of the Act Now! Drama Company.
