We Are Here Productions Presents HEATHERS THE MUSICAL: IN CONCERT

We Are Here Productions announces the off-Broadway cult sensation musical Heathers to benefit the Canadian Mental Health Association. Generously supported by Solar Stage and Canadian Actor's Equity Association, We Are Here aims to raise $15,000 in support of CMHA's services over three shows. With staging, choreography, a full band and a cast of Toronto's hottest emerging musical theatre talent, "Heathers In Concert" will push the boundaries of what an "In Concert" show can be.

Director Matt Lacas says: "Part of erasing the stigma around metal health is making sure those who reach out for help actually get it. The Canadian Mental Health Association supports more than 1.3 million Canadians and they need our help more than ever: it's unfortunate that our mental health services in Canada are severely limited and underfunded, but mental health awareness is at an all-time high. Society finally seems ready to start talking about mental health and how it effects all of us. We are delighted to partner with Solar Stage to make a difference through our art.

Based on the 1988 cult favorite, Heathers is a dark musical comedy that frames issues such as bullying, social hierarchies, and suicide with a contemporary pop/rock score. Rebellious teen Veronica Sawyer meets bad boy JD, which spells danger for their school's clique of "Heathers".

Starring Jade McLeod as Veronica Sawyer and Jeremy Sanders as J.D

Featuring Saphire Demitro as Heather Chandler, Rosie Callaghan as Heather McNamara, Liana Bdewi as Heather Duke, Rachelle Bradley as Martha Dunnstock, Ryota Kaneko as Ram Sweeny, and Chris Vergara as Kurt Kelly

With Dalton Bolton as Mr. Sawyer/Principle Gowan/Paul Kelly, Danik McAfee as Bill Sweeny/Big Bud Dean/Coach Ripper, Gillian Reed as Mrs. Sawyer/ Ms. Flemming, and Cameron Avery, Matthew Barker, Haley Dwolinsky, Anique Mercier, Faly Mevamanana, Haley Dwolinsky and Brett Seivwright

We Are Here Productions is a not-for-profit theatre company that aims to turn art into tangible aid for those in need in, both in our community and worldwide. Last year, the company's inaugural production of Lin-Manuel Miranda's "In The Heights: In Concert" raised $10,000 to benefit Puerto Rico and The Hispanic Federation. We are committed to diverse and inclusive casting, as well as shows that shine a light on relevant issues for Toronto audiences.
