Theatre francais de Toronto Presents MIDSUMMER, Now thru 3/1

By:
Théâtre français de Toronto will present the French adaptation of the smash hit Midsummer, by Scottish playwright David Greig and singer-songwriter Gordon McIntyre. Produced by Montreal's Théâtre de La Manufacture, this wildly popular and critically acclaimed production will be presented in French with English surtitles at the Berkeley Street Theatre tonight, February 25 to March 1st, 2015.

Midsummer's weekend in Edinburgh. It's raining. Bob's a failing car salesman on the fringes of the city's underworld. Helena's a high-powered divorce lawyer with a taste for other people's husbands. She's totally out of his league; he's not her type at all. They absolutely should not sleep together. Which is, of course, what they do. Midsummer is the story of a great lost weekend of bridge-burning, car chases, wedding bust-ups, bondagemiscalculations, midnight trysts and self-loathing hangovers.

Directed by Philippe lambert. Starring Isabelle Blais andPierre-Luc Brillant.

Assistant Director: Jean Gaudreau; Costumes and props: Josée Bergeron-Proulx; Lighting: André Rioux; Sound designer: Pierre-Luc Brillant.

Founded in 1975, Le Théâtre de la Manufacture is one of the most dynamic places of expression of alternative theatre in Montreal. The company fosters the discovery of current and contemporary drama, favoring Quebec creations, but also open to world theatreperformances with exchanges with foreign countries and adaptations of foreign texts in quebecois French.

Théâtre français de Toronto wishes to thank Sun Life Financial, our Surtitles Sponsor, VIA Rail Canada, our Season Sponsor, Scotiabank, Official Sponsor of the Show, Le Secrétariat aux affaires intergouvernementales canadiennes and Canada Arts Presentation Funds, a program from the Canadian Heritage Ministry.
