Katurian the writer stays in and writes stories. That's it. Brilliant but often grotesque tales, shaped by a twisted childhood experiment conducted by his own parents. Now Katurian has been blindfolded and taken out of his home to face questioning at the hands of two brutal detectives. Are Katurian and his brother, Michal, responsible for the murder of three children? Martin McDonagh's play is a harrowing and blackly funny meditation on the tricky power of words to shape the world.

Rarely Pure Theatre, a new and emerging theatre collective, continues to produce work that offers stunning plots and imagery as well as innovative ways of live story telling. The collective was created by a diverse group of theatre school graduates, including Ryerson and University of Windsor, who dare to explore an ever-shifting identity through the visceral means of theatre.

The Pillowman, written by Martin McDonagh and directed by Ryan Quinn, will be performed at The Propeller Gallery at 984 Queen St. W. The show opens tonight, February 27th and will close on Sunday, March 3rd. Performances are at 8:00pm. Tickets can be bought at www.ticketbreak.com or at the door.
