FIDDLER ON THE ROOF will open the highly-anticipated 61st season of the Stratford Festival on April 23. To tie you over until then, we invite you to take a look behind the scenes with Head Scenic Painter Chris Klein as he shows us some of the work that went into creating the "globe" canopy for the production.
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF begins previews on April 23 with an official opening set for May 8. The show runs thru October 20.
This affectionately humorous portrait of life in a Jewish village in Tsarist Russia centres on Tevye, a milkman-philosopher who finds his values challenged by his daughters' insistence on following their hearts rather than the dictates of tradition. Meanwhile, more sinister changes are on the horizon - ones that threaten the community's very existence.
