Shaw Festival Announces 2016 Appointments to Board of Governors
By: Tyler Peterson
Three new appointments to the Shaw Festival's Board of Governors were announced today by Chair Andrew M. Pringle during the Annual General Meeting.
Lyle Hall, Timothy R. Price and Jaime Watt are leaders in their respective industries and passionate supporters of arts and culture in Canada. As members of the Shaw Festival's binational Board of Governors, they will apply their expertise and remarkable skill sets to the continued development of The Shaw's strategic direction, further its mission through active ambassadorship and the establishment of policies and procedures that support its long-time sustainability. "The Shaw Festival is responsible for $100 million of the Niagara cultural economy, or about a fifth of the overall impact. Savvy business leaders, who understand the Festival's bi-national customer base, the competing forces surrounding it, as well as demonstrating deep, prolonged passion for the art produced here, are needed and wanted," remarked Mr. Pringle. "As The Shaw enters a new leadership era, the Board's help in gaining a deeper understanding of current and future audiences, both personally and as ambassadors to their wider business networks, will help the Festival establish a firm foothold in the 21st century."
